Introduction

In this blog, we’ll cover two often overlooked features which are a key contributor to a yard safety.

By now you should have a good feel for what make up our MAXXUS Yard Essential Extras. The final two are often overlooked, but are a key contributor to a safe yard - Gate Stops and Slam Latches.

The Gate Stops are designed to hold gates in place when they’re open to prevent them from swinging closed in the wind or by a cattle beast nudging it.

They’re really helpful for when you’re working solo in your yards. We don’t have 4 arms to do everything, so these Gate Stops do the job of holding gates in position for you when you’re moving them from pen to pen.

The Gate Stops are one of the little extras that you’d overlook when you’re doing your due diligence on a set of yards for your lifestyle block or small farm. However, in practicality, they’re a real quiet achiever to make your cattle or sheep handling a lot easier and safer.

Another key feature of our MAXXUS yards are our Slam Latches. When you need to slam a gate quickly, these are safe and efficient. Rather than mucking round with a chain latch system, slam your gate, and the Slam Latch does the rest.

Don’t get caught out by stroppy cattle, or cattle that may want to turn back on you!

Below, Joe talks about how these are a great addition to our MAXXUS yards.

Secondly, the ‘clamp’ section fits around the steel posts of each panel or gate, nice and flush. Using a wrench or ideally a rattle gun, these are tightened to ‘pinch’ the steel posts, removing any rattle.
