The Commercial 120

The Commercial 120 is our most popular medium-large Commercial design.

This circular design offers great stock flow throughout with several drafting options and a sizeable non-stock area for operators. The forcing circle assists with efficient flow up the race and doubles as a great safety feature for if you're working the yards alone or perhaps you have children working in the yards with you.

Working capacity of around 75 head based on the average sized adult cattle.

Yard Dimensions

When it comes to scoping a particular design on a confined site, overall yard dimensions are helpful to understand the overall footprint of a design.

Onefarm can provide more dimensions where required to aid with deciding on a design.

For larger Commercial Yards, a site visit is recommended. Using a drone, we take an aerial shot of your site for our design team to superimpose different yard designs to scale.

Including Loading Ramp Area - 19.5m x 18m

Excluding Loading Ramp Area - 16.1m x 18m

Yard Capacity

When contemplating yard capacity, it is crucial to contemplate Holding Capacity and Working Capacity separately.

It's comparable to a kitchen where eight people can stand, but only two people can work efficiently.

If there were eight people standing in the kitchen, no one would be able to work.

The same principle applies to cattle in yards. When handling cattle, they require ample space for turning and movement.

Based on your average adult cattle (450kg), we use 1.5m2 per head for Holding Capacity, or 2.2m2 as a guide for working capacity. This differs based on whether you're running Cows & Calves, Calves alone, Bulls etc.

Holding Capacity - 120

Working Capacity - 81

Surface Area

For the purpose of obtaining quotes for site preparation, metal, and concrete costs, see below surface area of this design. 'Working Area' refers to the Force Pen, Non-Stock Area and Race.

Working Area - 107m2

Full Pad - 284m2
